Understanding and Using Corporate Culture Surveys
To manage change in any organization we need to understand where the 'company is now', both in terms of culture and processes and where the company wants to be. This means measuring before and after interventions in a consistent way.
What is Organizational Culture?
The corporate culture of an organisation is 'the way things are done here'.
An organizations' culture can be the enabler or disabler of effective change. For change to work, any change activity needs to be congruent or sympathetic with the culture of the organization.
Dramatic shifts from one culture to another need to be carefully planned and a medium to long term plan put in place - people do not (usually) change the way they relate to people over night.
The BIR is a proven organizational/ corporate culture survey tool. It has been developed and proven with a wide range of organizations from a two person micro organization through to national divisions of multi-national's.

What is the BIR™?
The BIR™ is a rapid review technique which can be used as part of a SWOT or PESTLE (PEST) analysis with your business strategy development.
The BIR™ can also be used as a staff survey or organizational culture survey (the BIR-hr version)
The BIR-solo is the single responder version of the BIR-hr. The BIR-hr when used in an organization or company will allow users to see the variance in perceptions between senior managers, managers and staff.
The full BIR also includes questions about business strategy, finance, marketing and operations. The full BIR can be used as a benchmarking tool and a developmental evaluation framework. Comparisons between previous surveys can be done.
The BIR has the capability to benchmark with a previous organizational culture survey in your company , or with third party organizations.
