Organizational Development - Organizational Mirror Methods

Organizational Development Techniques

The aim of the process is to recognize and clarify dysfunctional activity by mirroring so as to strengthen boundary differentiation amongst groups and individuals and hence their capacity for adaptation to the organizational task.

The process typically follows three broad stages:
information-gathering,
formulation and
implementation

Intelligent Mirror

Any OD technique worth applying is more than a simple reflection. It needs to add vaklue to what was contributed.
An Intelligent mirror reflects what was said and addes from the experience of the advisers/ facilitators.

The BIR as an organizational Mirror technique

The Business Improvement Review was designed as an organizational Mirror - we call it an intelligent mirror as it does more than just say what people answered.

Much organizational development and change programs fail as there is little true ownership of the change.

The BIR, using a mirror approach helps to engage responders at all levels to what is happening and what can be done to enable the business or organization to be more effective.
