Manual Handling Training we offer

As well as the very basics of manual handling, the introduction to moving inanimate objects.

We can then progress to assisted client and patient moving:


  • Assistance to stand
  • Assistance to walk - with and without aids
  • Chair to chair transfers
  • Chair to floor for emergences
  • Use of wheel chairs
  • Use of evacuation chairs and equipment
  • Use of hoists (manual and electric)
  • Slide patients/ clients up a bed
  • Roll and turn patients/ clients

Risk Assessments
Risk assessments of manual handling and patient handling can be complex and difficult. We can undertake risk assessments and work with you to identify suitable manual handling aids, as well as train your people in the appropriate risk assessment methods for your environment.


We use several risk assessment methods including the TILEE


  • Task - to be done
  • Individual - limitations and factors
  • Load - to be moved
  • Equipment - available to assist
  • Environment - in which the activity or move is being made

The Team at RapidBI have over 20 years of experience training others in the skills and techniques of people handling, in a range of environments including pre-hospital, hospital care home and domestic environment.

Manual Handling of People

When people need to be assisted to move it is a potentially dangerous activity for all concerned. many organisations (quite correctly) have 'no lify policies'. Our training can cover use of people handling equipment as well as aids to assist the occasions where people need to be physically moved.
